Coupe et Couture was published in Paris in the 1920s-its a sewing guide with numerous techniques and patterns. Included were illustrations of patterns for sale-this glamorous asymetric dress was featured along with pattern layouts.

Journal demoiselles 1872-girls dress sewing pattern

Journal des Demoiselles published large sewing pattern sheets as supplements to its journal-these exquisite rare vintage patterns illustrated garments for Women and children-illustrated here is a girls Polonaise or draped jacket.

The sheets are on thin dress making paper with lines for guides. Heres an interesting pattern for a standing calendar.

This is an illustration of a chemise top -this Victorian vintage sewing pattern sheet would have allowed these garments to be made at home.

Journal des demoiselles was published in France during victorian era-in journal and hardback form. The journal usually was all text-stories, advice, fashio

n tips and some recipes, and would often include a pattern supplement sheet. COULOUR illustrations of the garments can sometimes be found in the Hardback form-its difficult to find the corresponding picture though.
